The blind spot within the science of happiness

The protection of children from violence in the family (SDG 16.2) surely is an important foundation for a happy society. But it is always left out in the recommendations of researchers like Richard Layard, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Martin Seligman, Jonathan Haidt, Ed Diener .. Maybe because corporal punishment is still legal in the USA ( #ratifycrc ) and parts of the UK?
